So... about matcha (green tea powder)?

I wanna make green tea cheesecake for Christmas, but I have no idea how long I've had that matcha bag in the fridge. How can you tell if it's bad?


Cakeyness? Turning brown? Smells?So... about matcha (green tea powder)?
If it is over a few years old, I wouldn't take the chance. It's in a dry powder form so it's probably still good, and it will be in a cake so it will be under heat. It's probably good, but do you really want to risk it.
