Does powder green tea offers the same benefit?

I want to start drinking green tea. Does powder green tea offers the same health benefit? And any recommendation which brand of green tea to get or where to get good green tea? thanksDoes powder green tea offers the same benefit?
Infused teas are more beneficial than dried powders... that's a further step in processing which depletes beneficial qualities.

For maximum health benefits, try white tea.

White tea comes from the same plant (Camellia sinensis) as green tea and black/red tea but it is the least processed of the three.

To make white tea, leaves are simply picked and air-dried.

Green tea is produced by picking, heating (steaming or pan firing), rolling and drying the leaves.

Because it is the least processed, white tea has an even greater antioxidant activity than green tea. It also releases the least amount of caffeine (which has been the only negative aspect of green tea), typically from five to 15 milligrams per cup. It produces a very pale infusion with a very delicate taste.

I recommend ';Celestial Seasonings'; which is easily available at most grocery stores and is a good trusted tea brand. They offer a good organic green tea, and vanilla apple white tea, within their line of teas.

But common tea brands such as Tetley and Lipton also offer white tea and a variety of green tea, including decaffeinated, and flavours such a pomegranate, mint, and jasmine.

Visit your local grocery store to see what's available (where you live) in the organic/health food section, as well as the coffee/tea aisle.Does powder green tea offers the same benefit?
thank you Report Abuse

Green tea powder is like some tea bags from the home brand convenience store. It's the crap or sweepings after the good stuff has been bagged.

You are better off with the leaf variety. Green tea is just the youngest shoot of the camelia compared to the more mature leaf that is picked for normal teas. Once it has dried out it powders and gets mixed with other debris. It is generally considered lower quality to leaf.
